We will have as a main speaker Professor Samuel L. Bufford, former US Bankruptcy Judge for the Central District of California in Los Angeles (one of the largest bankruptcy districts in the US).
Professor Samuel L. Bufford is on a Fulbright Fellowship to teach two insolvency and restructuring courses with the Bucharest University School of Law during this Fall Semester. He is a legend and a bankruptcy luminary, with over 25 years spent on the federal bench presiding over 120,000 court cases. Prof Bufford is a longtime friend of Romania. Since 1991, he constantly visited the country for lecturing on bankruptcy and related aspects before Romanian insolvency and appellate judges, lawyers, and trustees. He was involved in advising the Romanian Government on Romania’s new post-communist bankruptcy law.
